We
are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Deal Desk Analyst to
join our team at [Mortgage Company Name]. This position plays a
critical role in reviewing underwriting guidelines across multiple
mortgage product types including Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, Jumbo, and
Non-QM loans. The successful candidate will act as a liaison between
the Sales, Underwriting, and Investor teams, ensuring that mortgage
deals are in compliance with guidelines and are structured effectively
for approval
Key Responsibilities

Review and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines across all
mortgage types (Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, Jumbo, and Non-QM).

Serve as a key liaison between the Sales, Underwriting, and Investor
teams to facilitate smooth communication and timely deal flow.

Analyze and evaluate loan scenarios to ensure proper structuring and guideline adherence.

Provide feedback and support to Sales teams on loan products, guidelines, and best practices.

Assist in the resolution of complex underwriting and loan structuring issues.

Collaborate with underwriting teams to ensure efficient loan approvals and identify potential areas for process improvement.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in underwriting guidelines, loan programs, and investor requirements.

Work with investors to ensure accurate and timely submission of loans.

Track deal performance and ensure all necessary documentation is provided and accurate.

Address and resolve any post-closing issues that may arise.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Preferred: Previous experience working at an independent mortgage bank.

Desired: Experience in mortgage underwriting, with strong knowledge of the different loan types and their respective guidelines.

Proficiency in mortgage loan guidelines and documentation.

Ability to analyze complex loan structures and identify potential issues.

Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external investors.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.

Bachelorβs degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in the mortgage industry, preferably in underwriting or deal desk functions.
