👩💻 The Role
Location: While this position is posted in a
specific location, all of Oyster’s positions are fully remote, and you
can work from home. Forever. To create the best experience for our new
hire, this role requires that you be based in +1/ +2 UTC timezone.
We are seeking a skilled Senior Specialist, Payroll Implementation to
join the Global Payroll Centre of Excellence team. This team operates
within the Payroll Operations team, collaborating closely to guarantee
timely and accurate payment for our customers’ team members.
In this senior-level position, you will be the primary contact for
our expanding global customer base. Working closely with
country-specific Payroll Specialists, you will oversee the configuration
of each customer’s payroll according to their requirements, ensuring
compliance with local regulations.
Your expertise in payroll migrations and proficiency with various
payroll systems will be instrumental in ensuring the success of this
crucial role. Join us in driving our global payroll operations forward

Key Responsibilities
Global Payroll customer onboarding:
- Project initiation and management
- Work with various stakeholders and clients to manage the end-to-end implementation of a new customer’s payroll.
- Create, maintain, and manage implementation project plans for the successful roll-out of Global Payroll across many countries.
- Client and Project management
- Facilitation of internal and external review calls with clients.
- Gather crucial payroll requirements to streamline the onboarding process.
- Guide customers through technical payroll implementation activities.
- Management of any alterations in the scope of work and delivery schedules.
- System set-up and parallel payroll process
- Define and configure all interfaces, reports, and system
configurations to successfully deliver the parallel and live payroll for
months 1 and 2 of payroll launch.
- Supervise payroll data migration activities from legacy systems to the new global payroll system.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive testing plan to identify and
rectify system issues, ensuring a smooth transition to the new payroll
system.
- Go-live transition
- Work with the customers to sign off on the project and document all the client-specific needs.
- Collaboration with customers during the initial go-live phase.
- Monitor and assist customers for at least two months after onboarding, ensuring data quality and accuracy for processing.
- Generate reports to analyze, audit, and reconcile payroll data.
- Communication
- Act as the principal point of contact for all payroll project matters for the customer.
- Regular status reporting to leadership and taking ownership of escalating issues where necessary.
- Schedule and attend client calls to report on project status, identifying risks, actions, issues, and dependencies.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to gather payroll requirements, both for global and local needs.
Core Requirements
- 5+ years of Payroll processing experience with a solid understanding
of payroll processing principles, tax mechanics, and benefits
administration in multiple countries
- 4+ years of experience with payroll implementation with strong experience managing end-to-end payroll implementation projects.
- Robust understanding of payroll migration and the implementation of payroll between various systems.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to develop and maintain an organized structure.
- Accurate with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent data management skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience in handling multiple projects at the same time.
- Proven experience collaborating with internal and external
stakeholders to gather payroll requirements; cross-functional experience
will include partnering with HR, Finance, Accounting, and Treasury
departments.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a distributed environment where adaptability is imperative.
- Competent in data tools such as excel, g-sheets, as well as basic
data transformation applications such as Power Pivot,Gsheets, etc.
- Competent with excel formulas, such as INDEX MATCH, VLOOKUPS, PIVOT TABLE
- Ability to transform and analyze data rapidly whilst maintaining the quality and integrity of data
- Familiar with BI data tools such as Looker
